Managing carbon is the greatest challenge of the 21st century

We use the carbon others throw away
We grow carbon where others can't

We turn this carbon into sustainable protein to replace the 300 million tonnes a year of soy meal that is fed to pigs, chickens and fish, and driving deforestation.

Replacing this soy meal could save around 2 billion tonnes a year of CO
2 as well as saving rainforests and their biodiversity.

A co-product is
pure biogenic CO2 which can be captured for use or sequestration.

The Problem

According to IPCC, substantial reductions in CO2 are needed.

A wide range of future carbon reduction pathways are possible depending on our actions today.

Even when following an optimistic pathway, an annual reduction of the order of 10 gigatons per year of CO2 is probably necessary.

Up to 20% of the global carbon drawdown requirement could be met by reforesting the land used to grow soy meal.

Our Solution

We replace Soy meal with a high protein animal feed made from food waste, agricultural wastes and novel dryland crops.
This decreases the carbon footprint of agriculture by increasing the efficiency of agriculture.
We aim to make globally significant reductions to climate change while making spaces for future reforestation.
By protecting and enhancing forests we also make a contribution to increasing biodiversity.

Currently, 50% of the world’s habitable land is being used for Agriculture.

Forests area expand as we can use marginal land for food. More food with less land.

Our Process

We take carbon rich wastes from agriculture and food.

We can also grow hyper-water efficient crops (like cacti and agave) as an extra carbon source on degraded and semi-arid lands. We convert these carbon sources into protein and fat rich cells that can replace soy meal in animal feeds.

We use proprietary biotechnology to turn these carbon rich sources into proteins and fats for animal feed. By displacing Soy meal, we facilitate reforestation to deliver GT scale CO2 reductions.
